Moon Phase · Day 14–15

Full Moon

Culmination · release · clarity

The whole face of the Moon is lit and it rises as the Sun sets. A peak of light, emotion and clarity, and a natural moment to let go.

In the sky

The Moon is on the opposite side of Earth from the Sun, so its whole face is lit. It rises around sunset and sets around sunrise. Lunar eclipses only happen at a Full Moon.

The energy of this phase

Moon traditions treat the Full Moon as a peak: emotions run high, things come to light, and what was started at the New Moon shows what it has become. It is also the classic moment for release.

Working with it

  • Write down what you are ready to let go of, then safely burn or tear up the page.
  • Celebrate what has come to fruition, however small.
  • Spend a few minutes outside in the moonlight.
