Moon Phase · Day 23–29.5

Waning Crescent

Rest · surrender · dreaming

A fading sliver in the pre-dawn sky. The quiet end of the cycle: rest, reflect, and get ready to begin again.

In the sky

A thin crescent rises before the Sun and is visible low in the east at dawn, shrinking each morning until it disappears at the next New Moon.

The energy of this phase

Sometimes called the balsamic Moon. Energy is at its lowest. This is a time for rest, dreams, meditation and surrender rather than pushing.

Working with it

  • Sleep more if you can.
  • Keep a dream journal by your bed.
  • Reflect on the whole cycle: what you began, what grew, what you released.
